Utterly delicious!!!!! Beef stroganoff with dinner salad and blue cheese dressing. I thought it was delicious. I will be back for sure. Beef stroganoff is hard to find in restaurants. A++
We hosted a welcome dinner/cocktail hour at this restaurant for our wedding and cannot say enough positive things about 1501 Gastropub. Curtis the owner is very responsive to communication and was present on the day of our event to make sure everything went smoothly. His staff was very attentive, kind and understanding of dietary restrictions and presented guests with many options for both food and alcohol. We did a fixed course menu set originally with the previous owner, but our event was transferred seamlessly to the new owner. Us and our guests could not say enough great things about the food! They had many options for dietary restrictions (even gluten free!) The portions were very generous for the price. Both the strawberry burrata and date and arugula salads were a huge hit with our guests. The entrees we served were the short rib, chicken under a brick and the mahi mahi. They were all delicious but many of the guests who got the chicken were so impressed by how moist and delicious the food was! Many saying it was the best restaurant chicken they have ever had! The desserts choices were a flourless chocolate cake and a bread pudding that our guests really enjoyed both of. We loved the ambiance of the restaurant and had such a great time welcoming friends and family to our wedding!
Braised pork dish fantastic. All else above average too. Casual atmosphere in an unexciting part of town, but these days very good food is hard to find. Loved it!
Thank you 1501 Uptown. I celebrated my 50th last weekend. (My cake said "82"... then my friend rightfully switched it to 28). Thanks for helping me celebrate this amazing milestone and hosting me and my crazy friends (16 or so). The food was delicious. I had the tender pork shoulder. And the drinks were a good stiff. You guys are awesome!!! 1501 Uptown will live rent-free in all of our memories. You guys effortlessly matched our energy and really took care of us. I hope you guys didn't cuss us too harshly after we left :) Grade: A+
Immediately at check in, you are warmly greeted and asked if you've been helped and made sure you're checked in. Our server was pleasant and always checking in on us just enough of times as opposed to barely or too much. Love the open-air flowing through the restaurant on a Sunday brunch morning. The restraint had a rustic modern feel to it that felt homey. Everything on the menu looked so delicious which made it super hard for me and the rest of the party to decide which dish we were going to get. Appreciated the fact that they had a diverse selection of Vegan/Vegetarian friendly options. I had the Creamy Corn Chowder (made w/ coconut milk mind you) with Blue Crab, hubs had the Pastrami and Eggs, cousin had the Kobe Short Rib & Cracked Potato Hash where the meat melted in your mouth and flavor as orgazmic, and cousin-in-law had the Vegan Jackfruit Crab Cake. ALL were chef's kiss delicious! I can't wait to come back to this place to try other dishes it was THAT good!
Open and spacious dining room with. Nicely varied menu including good options for vegans. I ordered the pretzel which arrived w vegan cheese and mustard. The cheese had literally no flavor. It was odd. That deserves a good sauce option. My main dish was the vegan shepherds pie. I've had this dish at a few other places and this one paled on comparison. It featured sautéed button mushrooms under a large portion of dairy free mashed potatoes. It would work better if it had flavor and be properly baked. It's a popular place where you require a reservation. Dinner for two with one app and two drinks comes to $95
Excellent fried chicken sandwich with roasted ham ( not just processed ham slices) Gruyère cheese and pickles on a brioche bun. Cole slaw was tasty. Excellent steak fries with perfect balance of soft and crispy. Another person in our party loved the GREGOR Hamburger-- 1/2 pound beef, kobe short rib, beer cheese , romaine lettuce, tomato onion jam, pickles, and a fresh brioche bun. Salads looked great! Service was attentive. Ambiance was casual and relaxing.
I discovered this spot on Yelp and after I saw TD's review, I knew I had to check it out. I liked it so much that we went twice while in town for the weekend. On my first visit, I had gotten into PS a bit before the rest of our group and before we could check in to our rental house, so I had some time to kill at happy hour at 1501. I was a little frazzled from traveling and not used to the crazy desert heat (104+ degrees when I was there), but Denise welcomed me in and helped me out. She was so kind, friendly, and welcoming! I ordered the local date and arugula salad and a glass of wine. The salad was so delicious I decided I want to make it at home. I loved the combination of arugula, toasted pepitas, pancetta, chevre, and port vinaigrette. It was dressed pretty heavily but I liked it, and the flavors all went really well together for a savory/sweet combo. The happy hour pricing was really great - $2 off glasses of wine so my chardonnay was $6. The space is bright and airy inside, and they have a parking lot. We went back for lunch the next day and I got the 1501 burger, which was juicy and perfectly cooked with some tasty fries. A lot of things on the menu sounded really good, and I'd definitely come back.
